On Saturday, April 12th at Dallara Academy, Team Equos participated in the Regional Finals of F1 in Schools Italy. We are very proud to announce that our team won the knockout competition with the fastest car, a prize for Best Enterprise (the marketing and team identity portfolio and presentation), and placed second overall in their division. While it will still be very challenging to place among the top 10 teams nationally (out of 75 teams in four regions overall) and go to finals, Team Equos has positioned themselves very competitively and we are incredibly proud of them. They have worked hard and demonstrated their skills as collaborators and risk-takers. Way to go Team Equos!

The competition was about much more than just speed. The students were evaluated across several key areas that reflect the real-world demands of engineering, business, and project management. Equos Racing Team impressed judges with their strong performance in three core portfolios: Design & Engineering, Enterprise, and Project Management.
F1 in Schools - Design & Engineering Portfolio 🚗
The Design & Engineering Portfolio served as a cornerstone of the team’s technical work, demonstrating their entire process of designing and refining the miniature F1 car. It showcased a deep understanding of CAD design, aerodynamic and structural analysis, and included results from simulation and physical testing. The students tackled complex engineering challenges, such as reducing the car’s weight, optimizing its speed, and experimenting with advanced materials. This portfolio didn’t just focus on the final design — it told the story of innovation, learning, and iteration that defined the team’s journey.
F1 in Schools - Enterprise Portfolio 💼
In the Enterprise Portfolio, Equos Racing showed that they’re not just engineers — they’re entrepreneurs. This document highlighted the team’s approach to fundraising, marketing, and resource management, along with the development of a strong team brand and effective sponsorship strategies. From budget planning to public engagement campaigns, the team managed itself like a real startup, displaying creativity and strategic thinking that extended well beyond the racetrack.
F1 in Schools - Project Management Portfolio 📅
The Project Management Portfolio was a clear demonstration of the team’s ability to think long-term and stay organized. It included a detailed timeline of their work using Gantt charts and progress tables, along with an explanation of how tasks were divided, risks assessed, and deadlines met. The portfolio also illustrated their approach to problem-solving, showing how they adapted to unexpected challenges and maintained high standards throughout the project.

The experience at the Dallara Academy was an incredible opportunity for the team to test their skills in a real-world competitive setting — and they delivered. Their passion, collaboration, and commitment to excellence shone through in every part of their work.
✨A special thank you goes to the team’s main sponsors — AVL in Italy, Tartarini Auto Industries, and Red Gasolin — for their generous support and belief in the students’ potential. Their contributions played a key role in making this journey possible and successful.
We couldn’t be prouder of the Equos Racing Team for this fantastic result. They’ve demonstrated not only technical expertise but also the kind of interdisciplinary competence that represents the future of innovation. Go Equos!
