Welcome to the International School of Bologna (ISB)! Since 2006, we’ve served a vibrant community of local and international families in Northern Italy. Our campus fosters curiosity and broadens perspectives, helping students understand our changing world. As an IB continuum school, we’re dedicated to nurturing compassionate, open-minded thinkers ready to make a positive impact.

We Also Teach Italian
Our primary language of instruction is English, but we value our host country's culture and language. All students learn Italian, from Grade 1, with classes in either Italian mother tongue or Italian language acquisition.
Learning Technology
ISB is a proud Google Reference School, integrating technology purposefully across all grades. We balance fine and gross motor skills, and tactile and sensory learning with age-appropriate digital mastery.
Drop - Off And Pick - Up Time
Our garden opens at 08:30, and the school day runs from 08:50 to 15:20 (EY) / 15:30. Early Years children can join supervised care from 08:15 and after-school care until 17:00, included in the tuition fee.
Play is central to the network of learning, and not merely recreation for learning. Play integrates the child's learning, making learning deep, broad, relevant, thorough, and imaginative. Play and first-hand experiences enable the child to struggle, manipulate, explore, discover, and practice, thus becoming highly competent in a variety of ways. Through play, children understand and express their thoughts and feelings about the world cognitively and effectively. Our approaches to learning and teaching place the child in the center and offer a balance between teacher-led activities and collaborative inquiry opportunities where the children choose what they would like to do with the materials in the classroom.
