Secondary English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher
effective date September 2022
The EAL teacher will deliver individualized English language support to students with various proficiency levels. The EAL teacher will contribute with their expertise to the Student Support Services department. Develop language scaffolding programmes for non-English mother tongue students, which builds further on the principles of our PYP EAL curriculum, allowing our students to reach their full potential within the mainstream classroom. Teaching might include one-to-one and/or small group English language lessons as well as in-class support, particularly in Secondary Science or Individuals and Societies lessons. This will happen under the direction and supervision of the EAL Coordinator.
