Celebrating the ISB Class of 2025: A Night to Remember

On the evening of Thursday, 29 May, the International School of Bologna proudly celebrated the Graduation Ceremony of the Class of 2025. The prestigious Palazzo De' Toschi in Piazza Minghetti provided a stunning backdrop for a night filled with emotion, inspiration, and pride. This year’s graduating class consisted of 22 remarkable students, joined by over 160 guests—including families, staff, and special invitees—who gathered to honor this important milestone. The atmosphere was filled with joy, reflection, and anticipation for the future.

The ceremony opened with heartfelt speeches from ISB’s Head of School, Janecke Aarnaes, and Diploma Programme Coordinator, Nazanin Nikanjam, who both offered warm congratulations and inspiring words to the graduates. They encouraged the students to embrace the opportunities ahead with confidence, curiosity, and compassion. The evening was enriched by two outstanding musical performances by ISB students—one from the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the other from the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Their talent and poise set the tone for a celebration of creativity and expression, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the ISB community.

A highlight of the evening was the inspirational speech by Alessandro Berni, an ISB alumnus who recently completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology. Alessandro shared his personal journey since graduating from ISB, emphasizing how the International Baccalaureate Programme and the ISB experience equipped him not only for academic success, but also for life beyond the classroom. His message resonated deeply with students and families alike. Following the ceremony, graduates, their families, and staff came together for a festive rinfresco, celebrating the Class of 2025 with delicious food, heartfelt conversations, and plenty of shared memories. It was a joyful evening and a fitting send-off for these 22 young adults as they prepare to take on the world.
