Welcome our new Head of School

With a truly community-driven process, involving our students, parents, and staff, the ISB Board was proud to announce the arrival of our new Head of School, who joined us in July. We congratulate Janecke Aarnaes for accepting the position. As an internationally-minded, global citizen, Janecke Aarnaes comes with a wealth of school leadership experience from around the world and is a passionate IB educator. She is thrilled to make ISB and Bologna her new home. Ms. Aarnaes believes that excellence in education derives from a student-centered focus. Her ethos aligns with the ISB mission; believing that students must be provided with purposeful high-quality learning and be exposed to challenges and creative opportunities allowing them to think critically, reflect and take action that has positive consequences for both their local community and beyond.
