Hiring at IS Bologna is guided by a working procedure to support the school in the selection of the best faculty and to give all applicants and selection committee members a clear understanding of the process of selection. A copy of the procedure is available here. Selection is based on merit in relation to the selection criteria. Appointments are made in accordance with the school’s policies on equal employment opportunities and on the basis of an assessment of the suitability of applicants, taking into account: the nature of the duties/tasks to be performed by the person who is appointed; and the abilities, qualifications, experience and academic profile of applicants that are relevant to the performance of the functions of the position.
Unless otherwise stipulated in the position advertisement, applications should be made directly to the Head of School including as one attachment: a letter of application, which addresses the specific post criteria, and resume that includes the names email addresses and contact details of three referees.
Each position will have a deadline however applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible as the positions will be filled if an outstanding candidate is identified prior to the dates stipulated in the advertisement.
The application process will involve an interview. In most cases this is initially conducted by Skype and then followed up by an in-person interview at one of the job fairs, or at the school if circumstances allow. IS Bologna attends the CIS and Search Associate fairs in April.
Should an in-person interview prove impossible to organize then interviews will take place by Skype.
