Entrance Age

Admission to the International School of Bologna requires that applicants have reached the appropriate age by 31st December

Early Years Reception Three years by 31st December ***
Early Years Kindergarten Four years by 31st December
Early Years Transition Five years by 31st December
Elementary School 1 Six Years by 31st December
Elementary School 2 Seven Years by 31st December
Elementary School 3 Eight Years by 31st December
Elementary School 4 Nine Years by 31st December
Elementary School 5 Ten Years by 31st December
Middle School 1 Eleven Years by 31st December
Middle School 2 Twelve Years by 31st December
Middle School 3 Thirteen Years by 31st December

*** Priority will be given to students who have reached the age of three years by 31st December.  However some students may be admitted if they reach the required age by 30th April of the school year of entry.

The school reserves the right to admit an applicant outside of these age requirements on a case-by-case basis. This has to be with Board approval.

Initial placement will always be by Policy. Changes to the placement will be made only after an assessment of the student has been carried out. The school has a clear protocol for these cases

The Principal may make exceptions to this policy in extraordinary circumstances. In each case the Board will be informed of the decision.
