Class Size

The Board believes that class size has an important correlation to individual attention, social interaction and good teaching and learning.
The enrolment numbers for each class is as follows:
Early Years - 22
Early Years 3 - 22
Early Years 4 - 22
Elementary Years 1 - 22
Elementary Years 2 - 24
Elementary Years 3 - 24
Elementary Years 4 - 24
Elementary Years 5 - 24
Middle School 1 - 24
Middle School 2 - 24
Middle School 3 - 24

The school understands that there may be classes over-subscribed during the transition phase of this policy. The school will do all it can to bring the numbers down to policy size within the first year of implementation.

In exception circumstances the Principal is delegated the authority to temporary exceed these limits especially to cater for families for whom there is no other reasonable educational alternatives.

Composite Classes: If, for any reason, the school decides to structure a composite class (two grade levels in the same teaching space with one teacher) the number of students and staffing allocation shall be adjusted to reflect the added difficulty and responsibility that this entails.
